SEIXAL SCHOOL BOARDS OF DIRECTORS VISIT AVER-O-MAR SCHOOL

On April 17th, the main school of the Aver-o-Mar School Group welcomed a delegation of 24 heads from the 12 schools belonging to the Seixal Training Centre.

The project, run by the Training Centre directed by Orlando Teixeira, aims to provide school directors and managers with contact with different realities, pedagogical innovation projects and projects classified as good practices, which is why we were delighted to be invited to share our Educational Project with this group of school leaders. As well as visiting the renovated facilities, and because the remodelling of the school is also a successful project, we discussed practices in the areas of multimedia and robotics, teacher training and empowering the educational community, not forgetting the Aver-o-Mar project and all the clubs in operation. The use of technology, the focus on EPE and the 1st cycle, the relationship with the municipality and human resources for teachers and non-teachers were also the subject of debate, in an afternoon that proved to be too short for so much sharing.

The Seixal Schools Training Centre operates in the municipality of Seixal and is based at the Amora Secondary School. It covers a territorial area corresponding to the municipality of Seixal in which there are 85 regular public schools, a school population of of around 28,000 pupils, 2,000 teachers and 500 staff, spread over 8 school groups and 4 secondary schools.
