23 April World Book and Copyright Day

23th April is the World Book and Copyright Day, originally conceived in Catalonia, where the day has been celebrated with flowers and books since 1926.

This date also marks the United Nations Day of the Spanish Language and the date of death of one of the most important Spanish-speaking writers, Miguel de Cervantes.

The students of Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim schools, who attend Spanish classes, have joined together to celebrate the Spanish culture and language in an exhibition at the City Library of Vila do Conde and in the 18th Informative Exhibition at the Training and Professional Options Forum at the City Pavillion of Póvoa de Varzim.

In these commemorations, the theatre play El Quijote is included, aimed at the school audience.

With this work, we intend to encourage everyone to discover the pleasure of reading and to learn more about the Hispanic culture.

All the students’ work will then be displayed in an itinerant exhibition at the participating schools.
